Nutrients Given to Pregnant Women by 12 GW Troops in Aralaganwila

12 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops of the Security Force Headquarters - East under the guidelines given by the Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena organized a distribution of dry ration packs to 50 deserving pregnant women at the Mahaweli Centre at Aralaganwila on Wednesday (09) with sponsorship extended by donors.

Those pregnant women of low-income group families from Aralaganwila and Dimbulagala areas received these packs, each worth Rs 5000/=, comprised of grains, nutrients, milk powder, rice, dhal, etc. The proprietor of the ‘Master Chefs’, Mrs Thilini Withanage with her friends bore the cost of the donation at the request of the Army.

Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Commander, Security Forces - East graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, together with representatives of the donors, Major General Shewanth Kulathunga, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, Colonel Priyantha Malawarage, Commander, 232 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Rajiv Fernando, Chief Coordinating Civil Affairs Officer, Security Forces - East and several Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and civilians took part in the distribution ceremony.
