A stock of fishing nets, donated by the north based ‘Friends’, a non governmental organization were distributed among newly-resettled civilians in Senthankulam, Naguleshwaram fishing hamlets.
Troops of the 515 Brigade at Kankasanthurai organized the distribution of those 17 fishing nets, each worth about Rs 35,000/= among members of the fishing community.
Representatives of the ‘Friends’ organization, Army officers and civil officials witnessed the distribution of the nets during the brief ceremony, held at Senthankulam on Friday (11).
