The newly-promoted Major General D.D.U.K Hettiarachchi, General Officer Commanding, 23 Division was presented with military honours at the 23 Division Headquarters, Punani after his arrival upon receipt of his promotion.
In accordance with military traditions, Major General Hettiarachchi reviewed the Guard Turnout and received the salute of the Guard of Honour, presented by the troops at the 23 Division Headquarters.
As the final leg of the day’s programme, the General Officer Commanding was invited to add memories by planting a tree sapling in the premises. The event took place on Tuesday (17).
