Major General H.D.L.S. Perera RWP RSP ndc, Colonel of the Regiment of the Commando Regiment, assumed duties as the 10th Commander of 1 Corps on 04 May 2026 during a formal ceremony held at Headquarters 1 Corps.
Upon his arrival, he was accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour by the troops of 3rd Battalion the Gajaba Regiment. Thereafter, he planted a sapling in the camp premises.
The ceremonial occasion concluded with the newly appointed Commander posing for group photographs, followed by an address to the troops, during which he shared his vision and outlined his priorities for the future.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
