Newly-Accredited Defence Adviser of High Commission of Pakistan Calls on Commander of the Army

The newly-accredited Defence Adviser at the High Commission of Pakistan for Sri Lanka, Colonel Muhammad Safdar this morning (22) paid his first courtesy call on Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) at the Army Headquarters.

The new Defence Adviser shared views with the Commander of the Army on matters of mutual interest and inquired into the control mechanism of COVID-19 epidemic in Sri Lanka, spearheaded under the Commander's leadership with the blessings of HE the President. He also expressed his pleasure on COVID-19 prevention work of the tri services and hard work of all stakeholders in Sri Lanka.

He also assured his best cooperation to the Army all the time and discussed the status quo in regard to ongoing training programmes between both organizations. Exchange of mementos as symbols of goodwill and understanding brought the brief cordial meeting to culmination at the Commander’s office.
