Afterwards, the Colonel Commandant laid a floral wreath at the War Heroes’ monument to pay his tribute to the memory of fallen ones who made the supreme sacrifice on behalf of the motherland.

Subsequently, the day's Chief Guest was honoured in a ceremonial Guard of Honour parade. Major General Chandana Wijayasundara symbolized the acceptance of the new office by placing his signature for an official document at his new office.

Chanting of 'Seth Pirith' by members of the Maha Sangha invoked blessings on the new appointment in the presence of Senior Officers and the staff of Corps Headquarters.
