Major General Nandana Udawatta assumed duties as the Commander, Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ-J) on 21 February during a brief ceremony.
In accordance with military traditions, Major General Udawatte reviewed the Guard Turnout and received the salute of the Guard of Honour, presented by the troops of the SFHQ after his arrival at the SFHQ-J premises.
After taking over duties amidst religious observances, Major General Udawatte addressed the troops at the SFHQ-J cinema complex.
Prior to his new appointment, Major General Udawatta held the appointment of the Master General Ordnance at the Army Headquarters. He had previously commanded two Security Force Headquarters, namely Mullaittivu and Kilinochchi. He also holds the appointment of Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.
