Completion of New House for a Needy Family in Gothameegama by 20th Battalion the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) completed the construction of a new house for a deserving family in Gothameegama, Kataragama. The Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, Major General W.P.A.D.W. Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, vested the newly constructed home in the family during a ceremony on 30 September 2024.
This commendable initiative was undertaken in line with the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army. The financial support for this project was provided by Mr. Shon Vandort from Colombo. The construction was conducted under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of the 12 Infantry Division, with supervision from the Commander of the 121 Infantry Brigade and the direction of the Commanding Officer of the 20 SLSR.
The event culminated with the Chief of Staff handing over essential furniture items to the family, ensuring that they have a comfortable living space, and posing with a group photograph.
Commander of the Security Forces (Central), the Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army, the Commandant of the Army War College, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and residents in the area participated in the event.
