New Field Engineer Brigade Commander Begins Duties

Brigadier Dumidu Jayasinghe assumed duties as 19th Commander of the Field Engineer Brigade of the Headquarters Field Engineer Brigade in Boo Oya, Vavuniya on Monday (15) amidst traditional military formalities inside the Camp premises.

The day’s proceedings commenced saluting the incoming Brigade Commander in a Guard Turnout on his arrival at the premises. Later on, Brigadier Dumindu Jayasinghe signified the formal acceptance of the office, blessed by monks. Then, he planted a Mango sapling in the compound to mark this event. Staff Officers of Field Engineer Brigade conducted formal briefings on existing deployments and other operational environments.
