Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda, new Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery and Commander, Security Forces-Kilinochchi made his maiden visit to 12 (V) Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery in Koorai, Mannar on 26 January 2021 and 11 Sri Lanka Artillery (RFT) Regiment HQ in Selwari, Thalaimannar, the following day (27).
The Colonel Commandant on arrival at both places was honoured in a formal Guard Turnout before he was warmly welcomed by Commanding Officer at Artillery Camp, Koorai. Lieutenant Colonel D.M.B.P.B Dissanayake, Commanding Officer of 12 (V) SLA and Commanding Officer of 11 SLA (RFT) Lieutenant Colonel A.M.V.D Abeysinghe respective at both locations before separate briefings on roles and tasks were delivered.
The Colonel Commandant left memories by planting saplings before he addressed troops at both places urging all troops to act with discipline and commitment while performing duties.
