New 613 Brigade Commander Takes Office

Colonel Upul Kodituwakku assumed duties as the 8th Commander of the 613 Brigade amid religious blessings at the Headquarters in Kamburupitiya on Thursday (22) .

The newly-appointed Commander of the 613 Brigade was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and honoured in a Guard Turnout, presented by the troops of the 3 (V) Battalion of the Gamunu Watch. Afterwards, Colonel Kodituwakku placed his signature in the first official document to mark his assumption of duties, amidst religious observances in the presence of senior officers. Later on, he was invited to plant a sapling as a gesture of memory.

An All Rank tea and the formal address to the Officers and Other Ranks culminated the day's proceedings. Brigade staff and Other Ranks were present at the occasion.
