Colonel Chinthaka Wickramasingha assumed office as the 21st Brigade Commander of the 551 Brigade on Friday (29) at the Brigade Headquarters in Point Pedro, Kankesanthurai.
Troops of the 4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment awarded a Guard Turnout salute and honoured him on arrival at the main entrance to the Brigade HQ.
Afterwards, the newly-appointed Brigade Commander signed an official document amid religious blessings to signify the official acceptance of the office, followed by sapling planting in the compound. He also addressed the troops.
