Three woman soldiers who recently joined the Army from Mullaittivu area have done exceptionally well in the recent Northern Province Karate Tournament while still undergoing Army training in Recruit Course.
These woman soldiers, Private S. Nandini, Private S. Shivaneshwari and Private P. Kesia of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) secured 2nd place in the Karate Tournament (Katha style), 2nd place in the Shotokan style and the 2nd place in the Shotokan style under 50 kg categories respectively.
Their contribution after training under the Mullaittivu District coach was a notable feature as they undertook this challenge while still receiving training in the Army Recruit Course at Mullaittivu.
SFHQ-MLT after screening special talents and sport skills of those woman soldiers has already provided all necessary help to these Tamil-speaking woman soldiers who are to be further promoted at different levels under a separate skill development programme.
