With MP's Support, 21 Div Troops Build New House for Another Family

Troops under command to the 212 Brigade in another community project built a new house for the low-income family of Mrs D.M Kumuduni Disanayake in Lunuwewa, Thambuththegagama in collaboration with the “Jawayata Saviya” Foundation and vested it in the family on Monday (18).

This project was coordinated by Hon Member of Parliament Uddika Premarathna, under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 21 Division, Major General Mohan Rathnayaka. It was supervised by the Commander, 212 Brigade, Brigadier R.P.A.R.P Rajapaksha.

7 (V) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps troops using their technical and engineering expertise erected the house with funds allocated by the said Member of the Parliament and the “Jawayata Saviya” organization. The Commanding Officer 7 (V) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Lieutenant Colonel L.R Amarasekara closely monitored the progress of the project.

The house warming took place during a simple ceremony. Representing the GOC 21 Division, 211 Brigade Commander, Brigadier N.C.S.R Senarathna participated in the inaugural warming ceremony. Hon Member of Parliament Uddika Premarathna also participated in the house warming ceremony.

The Commanding Officer, 7 (V) SLAC, Civil Affairs Officer, 212 Brigade and a limited number of invitees and sponsors attended the house warming ceremony adhering to COVID-19 health protocols.
