More Sri Lankan Expatriates Brought Down - NOCPCO

As of this morning (27), a total of 598 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Five of them are Sri Lankan expatriates and others are locally-identified ones, including the majority 235 from Colombo, 84 from Kalutara district, 164 from Gampaha district and other 110 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (27), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 36, 670. Meanwhile, 28,643 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market (33,611) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

By this morning (27), a total of 40,379 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 32,050 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 8,142 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (27), 712 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the last 24 hours. In the past 24 hours, one death has been reported from Colombo 15. Accordingly, the death toll in the country rose to 187 by this morning (27).

As of this morning (27), the flight UL 104 from the Maldives with a passenger, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 130 passengers, the flight UL 607 from Australia with 68 passengers, the flight UL 455 from Japan with 74 passengers, the flight UL 226 from the UAE with 53 passengers and the flight UL 554 from Jordan with 200 passengers have arrived. The flight EK 650 from Dubai with 45 passengers, the flight UL 1208 from Italy with 07 passengers, the flight TK 730 from Turkey with 15 passengers and the flight SQ 468 with 08 passengers from Singapore are expected to arrive here within the day. They all were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
