More Flights with Sri Lankan Expatriates Arrive -NOCPCO

As of this morning (31), a total of 639 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Three of them are foreigners visiting here. Other 636 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 190 from Gampaha district, 133 from Colombo district, 89 from Kandy district and other 224 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (31), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 38,957. Meanwhile, 35,898 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market and Minuwangoda (3,059) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

By this morning (31), a total of 42,701 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 34, 622 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,880 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (31), 698 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. 04 more deaths have been reported from Colombo 10, Kolonnawa, Colombo 15 and Batticaloa areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 199 by this morning (31).

By this morning (31), the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 38 passengers has arrived. Likewise, the flight WY 371 from Oman with 30 passengers, the flight UL 102 from the Maldives with 06 passengers, the flight UL 1208 from Italy with 22 passengers, the flight UL 184 from Pakistan with one passenger, the flight RWD 9504 from Rwanda with 06 passengers, the flight UL186 from Pakistan with 04 passengers, the flight UL 1124 from India with 290 passengers, the flight UL 554 from Germany with 06 passengers and the flight EK 648 from from the UAE with 50 passengers are expected to arrive here within the day (31). They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
