More Flights Expected within the Day-NOPCO

As of this morning (17), a total of 719 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, were 04 Sri Lankan expatriates and other 683 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 182 from Gampaha district, 152 from Colombo district, 75 from Kandy district and 306 from different other districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (17), a total of 52,312 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 44,745 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,311 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (17), 487 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. One more death has been reported from Ethul Kotte area in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 256 by this morning (17).

By this morning (17), the flight UL 104 from the Maldives with 23 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 36 passengers, the flight UL 232 from the UAE with 79 passengers, the flight UL 226 from the UAE with 290 passengers and the flight UL 605 from Australia with 29 passenger and the flight UL 455 from Japan with 46 passengers have arrived.

The flight EK 650 from the UAE with 70 passengers, the flight UL 1365 from Indonesia with 09 passengers, the flight UL 102 from the Maldives with 05 passengers, the flight UL 506 from the Maldives with 05 passengers, the flight UL 303 from Singapore with 08 passengers and the flight SQ 468 from Singapore with 64 passengers, are expected to arrive here within the day. They all were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.

As of this morning (17), 7,131 persons in 83 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (16), 13,681 PCR tests have been conducted. Best Sneakers | Nike Air Max 270
