With the blessings of the Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda and guidelines given by the Commander Forward Maintenance Area Kilinochichi Major General Piyal Nanayakkarawasam, a counselling workshop on 'Management of Exam Stress' was conducted for 350 students in two schools who are scheduled to sit for the G.C.E (O/L) examination in the year 2021.
This workshop was held on 16 February 2021 at both Kilinochchi Central College and Kilinochchi Maha Vidyalaya as two sessions.
Mr Dharshana Niranjan Madawala, Independent member of the National Educational Council, Head of Internship programme at Damrivi Foundation Colombo and Mr Mohamed Ahamed Ifthikar, a lecturer from the National Institute of Social Development Colombo and National Institute of Education in Maharagama contributed to the sessions at both schools as resource personnel. The aim of this workshop was to educate the students on how to effectively overcome examination stress using relaxation techniques, meant to boost their psychosocial wellbeing.
