54 Division troops in Mannar marked the holy birth of Jesus Christ with a series of humanitarian projects in the area.
With the support from the Christian Association at People’s Bank in the 543 Brigade area and various donors, troops distributed gift parcels to over 250 inmates receiving treatment in the Mannar District Hospital on Friday (23).
In addition, Christmas Carols were presented jointly by troops and members of church choirs during visits to the wards.
The programme which saw special gift parcels being given to children in all the wards was attended by pastors, nuns, People’s Bank officials, Medical Superintendent, 54 Division General Officer Commanding and a group of civilians in the area.
