General Officer Commanding 54 Division, Major General Dharshana Wijesekara initiated the conduct of a Dengue prevention programme in the Mannar region in line with the national Dengue prevention programme, carried out from 4th to 8th of January 2022 with the support of the 543 Brigade troops.
The project covered Mannar, Pallimunai Beach front, and Pesalai Railway Station and all surrounding areas. The programme was attended by the Civil Affairs Officers of 54 Division and 543 Brigade HQs, Health authorities, including the acting Director of Health Services - Mannar, MOH Mannar, PHIs, Mannar Policemen and civilians.
