Maduru Oya ATS New Commandant Begins Duties

Brigadier Senaka Kasthurimudali, the newly-appointed Commandant at the Army Training School (ATS) at Maduruoya, assumed office on Friday (16) as the 39th ATS Commandant during a brief ceremony that gave prominence to religious observances.

A Guard Turnout, presented in his honour at the main entrance on arrival greeted the new ATS Commandant before he was conducted to the office by Senior Officers at the ATS. After lighting the traditional oil lamp in the office, he symbolically warmed the new office by placing his signature in an official document.

Planting a ‘Mango’ sapling in the premises, a few minutes later, the new Commandant added memories to the day before he joined refreshments.

He also did not forget to address Officers and Other Ranks in the ATS and sought their cooperation to conduct affairs at the ATS more efficiently.

He was the Director of Asset Management before his present appointment, and he succeeded Brigadier Najeewa Edirisinghe who was recently appointed as the Director of Operations in the Army Headquarters.
