Kukuleganga IPSOTSL Begins its 28th Training Course on HR & IHL for Service & STF Personnel

The three-week long 28th training course on 'Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (HR & IHL) for Army, Navy, Air Force and Special Task Force personnel at the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) in Kukulegaga on Monday (21).

These continuous rounds of training sessions are meant to train and groom Security Force personnel as instructors for HR and IHL and the joint- project is spearheaded in collaboration with the Army Training Directorate and the Directorate of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (HR & IHL).

So far, the IPSOTSL have completed 27 such training courses and succeeded in grooming Officers and Other Ranks as instructors among members of the tri forces and the Special Task Force. Among them are 434 officers and 950 other Ranks of the Army, 63 officers and 65 Other Ranks of the Navy, 53 officers and 57 Other Ranks of the Air Force and 33 officers and 29 other ranks of the Special Task Force.

Monday's inauguration lecture was delivered by Brigadier Priyantha Gamage, Director, Directorate of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (HR & IHL). 20 Officers and 45 other Ranks of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Special Task Force are currently following the course.
