Major General H.C.P Gunatillake, Military Secretary at Army Headquarters at the invitation of the Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), attended the ceremonial opening of the new library and the Internet café at the SFHQ-KLN.
Major General Gunatillake as the Chief Guest for the occasion declared open the new library, equipped with hundreds of volumes plus the modern Internet café inside the same building on Saturday (7) at the invitation of Major General Nandana Udawatta, Commander, SFHQ-KLN. The visiting Chief Guest was warmly received by Major General Udawatta on arrival at the premises.
This long-felt requirement of the troops enables all of them to use their leisure time productively, and improve their knowledge on a wide variety of subjects through reading. Establishment of the Internet café also provides a very important solace to the troops as they would be able to get directly connected to their home people or friends all over the world through modern IT techniques.
All General Officers Commanding (GOCs) in different Divisions, Brigade Commanders, senior officers and a large gathering of other ranks participated in the opening ceremony.
