Kilinochchi Troops Launched Community Project, Supported by Lions Club

In response to a request made by Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana Commander, Security Forces- Kilinochchi (SF-KLN), Lions Club of Peliyagoda donated a stock of stationeries, spectacles and wheelchairs to the needy people in Kilinochchi on Sunday (02).

The brief ceremony to distribute the stock of stationeries among 150 school children, spectacles among 350 visually impaired people after conduct of an eye clinic and also the distribution of three wheelchairs among disabled people was held at Nelum Piyasa auditorium, Kilinochchi. During the donation programme the Sath Ranga dancing group entertained the gathering.

Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander SF - KLN attended as the Chief Guest for the event along with Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier Admin and Quartering of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN).

President, Peliyagoda Lions Club, Lion Mr Thilak Frenando, Secretary Lion Lady Mrs Kusum Amarathunga, Lion Mr Alex Ponweera, Lion Lady Mrs Dilrukshi Livera and several other members of Peliyagoda Lions club, and Army Officers attended this event.

57 Division and 571 Brigade coordinated the donation programme of specially with the support of Armour Coordinating Office and 8 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment troops.
