On the guidance of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), troops of 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) provided assistance to the annual Kovil Pooja ceremony at Marimuththu Amman Kovil in Mahayalampuram on Sunday (3).
Troops of 9 VIR gave their fullest support to the ceremony from the beginning. They provided supper for a gathering of more than 600 civilians during the Kovil ceremony.
Commander SFHQ-KLN, General Officer Commanding of the 57 Division, Brigade Commander of 571 Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 9VIR attended the final Kovil Pooja.
Meanwhile, troops of 11 Gajaba Regiment (GR) under 651 Brigade provided assistance to the annual Kovil Pooja ceremony at Amman Kovil in Kariyalnagapadduwan, held from 31 July to 8 August. Troops provided drinking water and accommodation to devotees from different areas who reached there every day for the Kovil Pooja.
