Just another community-oriented project organized by the Security Force Headquarters Killinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) saw 185 students receive scholarships at a simple ceremony at Advance Infantry Training School, Kilinochchi Thursday (13).
140 students in the area who got through last year’s Grade 5 scholarship examination and 25 students who passed the G. C. E. (O/L) examination received these monetary assistance donated by philanthropist Mr. Ricky Weerasinghe. Another selected 20 students whose parents are government servants serving in the area too received scholarships at the ceremony.
SFHQ-KLN had arranged to register the scholarships with Bank of Ceylon during the event.
Security Force Commander Kilinochchi Major General G. V. D. U. A. Perera, Mr. Ricky Weerasinghe, government servants of the area, army officers, soldiers and students were present at the occasion.
