A Guard Turnout at the entrance to the 66 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) honoured Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - Killinochchi when he made his first official visit to the 66 Division HQ in Pooneryn on Monday (15).
The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 66 Division, Major General Ajith Dissanayake extended a warm welcome and enlightened the visiting Kilinochchi Commander on the role and tasks of the 66 Division, giving a presentation.
Subsequently, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe posed for group photographs with the General Officer Commanding, Staff Officers and the Commanders of under command formations of the 66 Division and addressed All Ranks, highlighting the importance of military duties and the preparedness for security challenges.
He was also invited to plant a sapling in the premises as a symbol of memory before he visited the nearby Gamini Kularatne monument at Elephant Pass. He also left his compliments in visitors’ books at respective places.
