Sri Lanka Army’s gesture of gratitude in lieu of the accommodation facilities, provided to the troops by Kegalle Swarna Jayanthi Maha Vidyalaya during their Independence Day ceremony services, has come in for praise of the school authorities. The Principal, Mr A.J.M Sugathadasa of Kegalle Swarna Jayanthi Maha Vidyalaya, in a letter addressed to the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, thanks the Army for their exemplary use of school resources with care and precision during their stay in the school premises.
He maintains that the Commanding Officer of the ad hoc camp while performing in an exemplary manner, took cautious steps to protect school resources with close coordination with school authorities during their stay.
Meanwhile, the Army as a token of gratitude gifted a Sisil refrigerator and a single phase centrifugal pump to the school soon after the troops vacated the school premises upon successful conduct of the 66th Independence Day ceremonies, for which the Principal in a separate letter has thanked the Army.
