Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship Assn Offers Help to SVAB

A representative delegation of Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship Association (JSFA) on Tuesday (20) met Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) and offered more assistance to the ongoing ‘Brave Hearts’ projects.

The group, headed by Dr Lal Tillakaratne, Chairman, JSFA, comprised of Messrs Kimada Masanori (Senate Member of Theginan City), Nshiwaki Shinichiro (Head of the Ginan City Fire Department) and a few others, during a meeting at the officers’ mess, Army Headquarters, donated a stock of physical training accessories, electrical appliances, reading glasses and books for the use of inmates at Anuradhapura, ‘Abimansala’ wellness resort.

The JSFA, engaged in assisting the Army by way of providing ambulances, fire engines and a huge assortment of items, such as medicine, medical equipment, etc for the last several years, during their meeting on Tuesday (20), has pledged more and more assistance to the SVAB projects.   

Mrs Jayasuriya appreciating their goodwill gifted them with several mementos during the meet at the Army Headquarters. Mrs Kumuduni Wanigasuriya, SVAB Public Relations Officer after welcoming them presented them with a detailed account of the services being done by the SVAB.

The Army band with its dancers added entertainment to the occasion.
