A deserving family in Pallai, Jaffna on account of the Army Day was fortunate to move into a new house built by the Security Forces HQ-Jaffna after their plight was brought to the notice of Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku, Commander Security Forces-Jaffna.
Financial sponsorship for the house was provided by the Chairman of the ‘Thyagi Charitable Trust’ Mr. V Thyagendran, Manager of People’s` Bank at Kodikamam, Mr. Sivanantharaja Gobikrishna and the businessman, Mr. Rajiv Seniththaraja.
The simple warming ceremony of the house, constructed for Mr Muttaiah Vijayakumar got underway with Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku, Commander Security Forces-Jaffna as the Chief Guest, together with Major General Mahinda Jayawardena, General Officer Commanding, 55 Division on 08 October 2021.
During this brief ceremony, dry ration packs and essential household items were also donated by the Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna. Moreover, stationery items, needed for students of the family were also donated on the occasion.
Troops of the 23 Gemunu Watch provided the much- required manpower for the construction work expeditiously under the supervision of the Commander 552 Brigade HQ.
The event was graced by General Officer Commanding 55 Division, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers and Government Officials and the troops who contributed to the construction.
