Troops of the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna gave assistance to the conduct of the annual Kovil Pooja at Palaly Rasarajeshvari Amman temple and Myliddy Kannagi Amman temple on Tuesday (3).
Guardians of both temples had organized special Poojas attended by a large crowd of Hindu devotees who gathered to pay their homage towards the deity.
Troops on the directives of Major General Jagath Alwis, Commander, SFHQ-J facilitated those religious events, providing transport, water, medical and basic facilities for the pilgrims. These two temples are situated within the Army Cantonment at Palaly.
The annual festival of Myliddy Kannagi Amman temple has been held uninterruptedly since 2013 by devotees with the assistance of the SFHQ-J that made necessary renovation to it.
Deputy Minister Mrs. Vijayakala Mahesvaran, Commander Major General Jagath Alwis and government officials also took part in both ceremonies.
