Following initiatives of the 513 Brigade under the 53 Division of the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), a group of Buddhist monks and visitors from Panadura called at the ‘Vazvzham’ Home for Children where blind children are looked after and given education at Mallakam on Tuesday (26).
The visitors donated school items and sweets to 34 inmates at the Children Home. They visited the Children Home during their stay in Jaffna to conduct a religious ceremony on Saturday and Sunday (23 and 24).
With the coordination of Ven. Dr. Karandatiyana Gunarathna Thero, from Singapore, a Malaysian businessman Mr. Song provided financial assistance for this donation.
Ven. Kaduruduwe Sugathavansa Thero of Gonaduwa Uththara Chethiyarama and visitors from Panadura area, Brigadier Priyantha Perera, Brigade Commander, 513 Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Priyantha Gamage, Civil Affairs Officer, SFHQ-J and Mr. R. Ravinthiran, Chairman, ‘Vazvaham’ Children Home participated with the event.
