Soldiers serving in Jaffna have donated Rs. 2 million towards the construction of Anuradhapura ‘Abimansala’, the wellness resort for the totally dependant disable War Heroes. This was handed over to the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya by the Security Forces Commander Jaffna Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe on Saturday (2) when the Commander of the Army visited Jaffna on a 2 day tour.
Every member of the Army serving Jaffna has voluntarily contributed to this worthy cause that benefits some of their fellow-soldiers who fought valiantly in the humanitarian operations before fell victim to terrorists.
Many local and foreign entrepreneurs have come forward to help construction of the ‘Abimansala’ which is the brainchild of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya.
