Brigadier Kalpa Sanjeewa assumed duties as the 40th Commandant of the Infantry Training Center (ITC) at Minneriya, amid religious blessings at the ITC office premises on Tuesday (23).
The newly-appointed Commandant was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and honoured in a Guard Turnout, presented by the troops of the Infantry Training Center on arrival. Afterwards, Brigadier Kalpa Sanjeewa placed his signature in an official document to mark his assumption of duties amid religions observances in the presence of senior officers. Later on, he was invited to plant a sapling as a gesture of memory in the compound.
An All Rank tea and his formal address to the Officers and Other Ranks culminated the day’s proceedings. Commanding Officer at ITC and ITC staff were present at the occasion.
