Interest Free Loans to Civilians Given in Ichchankulam


US-based ‘Namasthe’ charity organization, in collaboration with the People’s Banka in Vavuniya launched an interest-free loan project for civilians, engaged in agriculture, trade and business.

Accordingly, a simple ceremony, aimed at encouraging the masses for specific livelihood promotion projects, saw that 20 civilians in Kalmadu, Kalmadu Unit 2, Maravankulam and Tharadikulam areas in the 611 Brigade area under the 61 Division, receive those loans, running into Rs 2 million.
 
Such interest-free loans can be re-paid on staggered basis, depending on profits of their products in the trade or business following bank arrangements. ‘Namasthe’ organization has deposited the capital investment with the bank for smooth implementation the project.

Distribution ceremony of those loans took place at 611 Brigade Headquarters premises at Ichchankulam in the presence of Brigadier A. Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding 61 Division, Brigadier K.G.D Perera, Commander 611 Brigade and all senior officers serving the 611 Brigade in respective areas.

Mr Chutta Rathnasingham, Chairman, ‘Namasthe’ organization has launched the project in coordination with the bank in Vavuniya.
