Indian Air Force Senior Directing Staff Calls on Commander


Air Vice Marshal I.P Vipin, Senior Directing Staff of the Indian Air Force, currently in Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army Monday (25) morning at the Army Headquarters.
 
Air Vice Marshal I.P Vipin, Head of the delegation of India-based Defence Attachés who last week, attended the Defence Seminar at Colombo, was accompanied by two more senior officers of the delegation when visiting the Commander of the Army.
 
During the brief meeting Monday (25) morning, both of them exchanged views on matters of bilateral importance and explored possibilities of further enhancing bonds of goodwill and friendship.
 
Towards the end of the meet, mementos were exchanged, signifying the memory of the meeting.   
 
Air Vice Marshal A.V.M Vipin was commissioned into the Flying Branch of IAF in Jun 82, and has over 6000 hrs of flying experience.
 
During his career of over 30 years he has held various instructional, staff and Command appointments. His instructional tenures include stints at National Defence Academy, Basic Flying Training School and Fixed Wing Training Faculty at AF Station Yelahanka.  
 
Subsequently, he was an Air Force Examiner at the Aircrew Examining Board. He has held Staff appointments at Command and Air HQ which include Joint Director Personnel (Officers), Director Ops (T) and Principal Director Operations (T&H).
 
He has commanded two transport Squadrons and was Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station Palam. He graduated with the 52nd National Defence College Course before assuming the present appointment.
