Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-Wanni) on account of 73rd National Independence Day with the support of the Vavuniya Forest Conservation Department, 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 21st Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops under the 56 Division of the 563 Brigade launched the planting of 1000 saplings in and around Pirappanmaduwa village on Thursday (4).
Ven Lindawewe Amarajothi Thero and representative priests of Hindu, Islam and Muslim religions, Major General Hemantha Bandara, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni, Divisional Forest Officer and the Range Forest Officer of Vavuniya Forest Conservation Department, 56 Division’s General Officer Commanding, Major General Nadana Dunuwila, Brigade Commander, 563 Brigade, Brigadier Panduka Perera, Navy Base Commander Punewa, Colonel General Staff, Civil Affairs Officer of the SFHQ-Wanni, Air Force Radar Squadron Commanding Officer Vavuniya Base, Civil Affairs Officer, 56 Division, Commanding Officer, CSD, Commanding Officers of 7 SLSR, 16 SLSR, 21 SLSR, OIC Mamaduwa Police Station, two principals of Bogaswewa and Mahakachchakodiya schools along with 25 school children, Grama Niladhari of Prappanmaduwa village and the villagers in Pirappanmaduwa village joined hands with one another and planted those saplings as a contribution to national forest conservation drive.
