Hundreds of troops, serving the Army Headquarters at Colombo 3 took time off early last week to enjoy a musical evening, organized by the Headquarter Battalion at the Army Headquarters premises.
The occasion, aimed at providing the soldiers with mental relaxation, happiness and tranquility in mind was made a reality by the Commanding Officer at the Headquarters Battalion in response to a directive, proposed by the Commander of the Army.
The Army Headquarter-based Branches, Directorates and all the units supported the conduct of the musical evening, coloured with dancing features. Rhythmic beats of the Army band kept the audiences spellbound for a few hours as the attendees erupted in glee. More than 30-40 Army members contributed to the show by singing and dancing.
Lieutenant Colonel Anil Somaweera, Commanding Officer, Headquarters Battalion, senior officers and a large gathering of soldiers and woman soldiers participated in the entertainment programme.
