The recently-promoted Major General Prasanna Gunaratne, General Officer Commanding 55 Division of the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) received formal greetings and best wishes upon his return to the SLA Regimental HQ at Panagoda on Friday (29).
The customary felicitation ceremony for this Senior Gunner officer, Major General Prasanna Gunaratne offered military salutes to him upon his arrival at the Regimental HQ.
Featuring the traditional event at first, he reviewed the Guard Turnout at the entrance before he was invited to review the parade and receive the salute of the Guard of Honour, presented by Regimental troops. After a while, all officers present at the occasion sat with the promoted Senior Officer for group photographs in order to add memories to the occasion.
The day’s proceedings culminated with an All Rank lunch at the 4 Sri Lanka Artillery camp premises. On behalf of the Colonel Commandant, all Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment, the Centre Commandant extended best wishes of the Regiment to the newly-promoted Major General and awarded a memento.
