The Gajaba Regimental Centre recently holding colourful parades bade farewell to two of its proud sons, Major General Dammika Jayasinghe, the former Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Major General Jayashantha Gamage, former Military Secretary and Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka National Guard.
Serving more than 35 years for both the country and the Army alike, both retiring Senior Officers took the salute of GR troops for the last time inside the GR Regimental Centre in a moving ceremony, attended by a host of Senior Officers.
Both those Officers have actively contributed to the successful completion of the Humanitarian Operations at the risk of their own lives.
