Giving a relief to the people undergoing economic hardships in the general area of Kanagaraykulam in Vavuniya, 561 Brigade troops under the 56 Division of the Security Force HQ-Wanni offered more than 400 free lunch packets to civilians after taking them to each doorstep on 13 July 2022 as one of the 561 Brigade's community projects.
Major General Saman Liyanage, General Officer Commanding, 56 Division gave the green light for the project under the close supervisor of Brigadier Priyanga Kulathilaka, 561 Brigade Commander.
Officers and Other Ranks footed the cost of those meal packets and joined the distribution.
