Four More Die of COVID-19 -NOCPCO

As of this morning (16), a total of 695 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, were 8 Sri Lankan expatriates, 4 foreigners and other 683 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 168 from Gampaha district, 147 from Colombo district, 90 from Kandy district and 278 from different other districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (16), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 47,788. Meanwhile, 41,501 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market (38,442) and Minuwangoda (3,059) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

By this morning (16), a total of 51,596 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 44,258 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,083 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (16), 512 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. 04 more deaths have been reported from Nawalapitiya, Colombo 15, KIribathgoda and Colombo 10 areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 255 by this morning (16).

By this morning (16), the flight EY 264 from the UAE with 50 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 45 passengers, the flight Q 226944 from the Maldives with 50 passengers, the flight 6E 9031 from India with 23 passengers and the flight UL 1026 from India with 40 passengers have arrived.

The flight ICF from India with 14 passengers, the flight UL 102 from the Maldives with 30 passengers, the flight UL 184 from Pakistan with 5 passengers , the flight IFC 321 from India with 14 passengers, the flight UL 102 from the Maldives with 30 passengers, the flight UL 184 from Pakistan with 5 passengers, the flight UL 196 from India with 3 passengers, the flight TK 730 from Turkey with 15 passengers , the flight UL 867 from China with 6 passengers, the flight WY 373 from Oman with 30 passengers and the flight UL 554 from Germany with 12 passengers are expected to arrive here within the day. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
