Major General PA Karunatilleke (Retd) RWP of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) passed away on 20 September 2022 at the age of 79 following a brief illness.
During his military career, he served as the Commander, Task Force 1, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna and the Deputy Overall Operation Commander. He also held the appointment of Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.
Remains lie at No 50/3/1, Galedanda Rajamaha Viharaya Mawatha, Kurukulawa, Ragama. Cremation will take place with military honours at 4.30 pm on 22 September 2022 at Eldeniya cemetery.
