Troops of 27 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) under 222 Bridge of 22 Division in the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) conducted an awareness programme and job recruitment drive, together with NMK COCO Land (Pvt) Ltd.
The project was to screen unemployed youths for job opportunities in Verugal Divisional Secretariat area and refer them to different Companies.
66 unemployed youth were selected and referred for new job places for training with the blessings of Hindu and Catholic priests who arrived at Kantale Railway Station to see them off on Wednesday (17) during a brief ceremony.
Colonel M.R.K.W.B Pinnawala, Brigade Commander, 222 Brigade made the initiative to conduct the programme with the participation of both rehabilitated and non-rehabilitated next of kin (NOK) of former LTTE combatants.
