The 561 Brigade under the 56 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni with sponsorship, provided by two lawyers assisted 10 most wanted low-income group families, resident in the general area of Vavuniya on Thursday (7).
Accordingly, following sponsorship provided by two lawyers, Major M.H.S Sri Kumara and his spouse, Mrs Nadee Gunarathne, troops in consultation with Grama Seva officials, distributed those cash incentives, each family with Rs 5000/= in order to help relieve them of their financial and economic hardships.
The project, launched on the guidelines given by Major General Saman Liyanage, General Officer Commanding, 56 Davison was closely supervised by Brigadier G.P.P Kulathilake, Commander, 561 Brigade. The Civil Affairs Officer and Major Administration and Quartering in the 561 Brigade coordinated the entire programme.
