Fallen, Disable &;amp; Serving VIR War Heroes Invoked Merits &;amp; Blessings

A special ‘Aloka Pooja Pinkama’ organized by Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) Seva Vanitha Unit at Sambodhi Viharaya, Colombo 7, lit 2600 bulbs inside the premises and conducted the religious programme.

Mrs Damayanthi Ratnayake, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) and Major General Jagath Dias, Colonel of the Regiment, VIR at the invitation of Mrs Saranki Dias, Chairperson, VIR Seva Vanitha Unit, took part in the religious event.

Mrs Shirani Ambanpola, Chairperson, Engineer Service Regiment Seva Vanitha Unit and many other Seva Vanitha members, attended the Pinkama.

A total of 135 officers and 2915 other ranks of this reputed infantry Regiment made the supreme sacrifice during the fight against terrorism.

The Pinkama was administered by Ven. Daranagama Kusaladamma Thero who also symbolically accepted the donation of 2600 bulbs to the temple.
