In what appeared to be a new initiative, all rehabilitated ex-combatants and their families living in the 62 Division area were invited to join a Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival and a festive lunch at Sampathnuwara school premises on Sunday (20).
On the directions given by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), the arrangement was launched as a socialization project for promotion of reconciliation and goodwill between security forces and civilians.
Brigadier D. Perera, General Officer Commanding, 62 Division after the lunch treat and distribution of gift parcels among them, discussed issues relevant to them and found alternative solutions.
