On the Eve of Malaysian Conference Commander Calls on Malaysian Army Chief

‘Defence Services Asia 2012; the 13th Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference’, expected to be inaugurated in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Tuesday (17) is to be attended by Defence Service Chiefs of more than 45 countries and companies producing military hardware, including Sri Lanka’s Secretary Defence and Urban Development, Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya and Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal H.D Abeywickrama.

This reputed conference organized by the Defence Services of Malaysia is regarded as one of the best and well-attended forums of military professionals, drawn from both the West and the far East.

Sri Lanka’s Army Chief Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya Monday (16) afternoon paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Army in Malaysia, General Datuk Haji Zulkifli Haji Zainal Abidin at his office and exchanged pleasantries and views on matters of bilateral importance and interest.

At the end of the cordial meeting Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya presented a token of memento to his Malaysian counterpart. The host reciprocated the gesture.

On Tuesday (17) the visiting Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya is scheduled to call on the Australian Army Chief following an invitation extended to him by the latter.
