Engineer Troops Complete Presidential Assignments at Poddenikanda Maha Vidyalaya

Sri Lanka Engineer (SLE) troops continuing their Presidential assignments as per directions of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva have completed the renovation and repairs of the school playground at Poddenikanda Maha Vidyalaya,Malimboda,Yatiyantota and its C.W.W Kannangara auditorium as advised during the 9th 'Gama Samaga Pilisandarak' Presidential programme, conducted at Dikkellakanda village on 06 February 2021.

In line with the project, 1 Field Engineer Regiment troops completed the renovation work of the playground within four months and the auditorium (100' x 20') just a few days ago together with 12 (V) Corps of Engineer Service Regiment under the supervision of Commander, General Engineer Brigade, Brigadier Asanga Perera.

The estimated cost for the renovation of the auditorium stands at Rs 4.2 m and is funded by the Presidential Secretariat. Procurement process was done by the District Secretariat of Kegalle. The Chief Field Engineer, General Officer Commanding of the Engineer Division directed his troops to complete the project work before the set deadline.
