Eighteen More after Full Recovery Leave Hospitals - NOCPCO

As of this morning (23), 14 persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19. Of them, one (01) is a detainee from Kandakadu and Senapura Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres for Drug Addicts and other 13 are expatriates from Saudi Arabia (07) at 1 Gemunu Watch QC, Sampur QC and Hotel Jetwing Sea QC, 03 from Kuwait at Jetwing Blue QC and Iranamadu QC, one (01) from India at Hotel Jetwing Beach QC and two persons (02) from Qatar at Mulankavil QC, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (23), the total number of detainees in quarantine at Kandakadu and Senapura Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres for Drug Addicts stands at 650.

The flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 42 passengers and the flight UL 1042 from Mumbai, India with one passenger have arrived in Colombo. All of them were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (23), 162 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 11 persons were from Nipuna Boossa QC, 17 from Periyakadu QC, 77 persons from Pelwehera QC, 50 from Hotel Jetwing Sea QC, and 07 from Rajagiriya Ayurveda QC.

Likewise, 43,895 individuals by this morning (23) have been sent back home after quarantining. 7,120 persons in 68 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (22), 1530 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 270,881.

Meanwhile, 18 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (23). All of them were expatriates in quarantine.

By 6.00 this morning (23), only 04 infected detainees at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts are still under treatment. 646 infected individuals after recovery have left hospitals.
